Today, we’ll explore the exceptional repair center of Comairco, located on the outskirts of Montreal in the city of Joliette. This specialized establishment passionately dedicates itself to the refurbishment and repair of compressors, breathing new life into these essential pieces of equipment.
Every year, Comairco acquires several dozens of used compressors and dryers, primarily sourced from its clients and industrial machinery auctions. Ranging from 50 to 1000 horsepower, equipped with diesel or electric motors, these compressors predominantly hail from the years 2002 to 2012, carrying a history of 10 to 20 years.
The meticulous reconditioning process commences with a complete disassembly of the compressor. Motors, compressed air modules, radiators, and pipes are replaced or refurbished. Controls are updated, oil is changed, and more efficient valves are installed. Damaged steel parts are meticulously worked on in our own repair center. To restore the external appearance, significant corrosion undergoes sandblasting treatment followed by complete repainting. These final steps are entirely executed in our dedicated workshop in Joliette, ensuring quality and timely work.
If necessary, we alter the compressor’s voltage. Each reconditioned compressor undergoes rigorous testing before being offered for sale among our selection of used machines or integrated into our rental fleet.
