Sullair compressor repair workshop — Comairco Canada

Our Compressor Repair and Reconditioning Facility

Comairco operates a dedicated industrial workshop for the repair and reconditioning of compressed air equipment, specializing in Sullair compressors. This facility breathes new life into essential industrial equipment for Comairco customers across Canada.

Every year, Comairco acquires several dozen used compressors and dryers from industrial clients and machinery auctions. Ranging from 50 to 1,000 horsepower, these units feature diesel or electric motors and primarily date from 2002 to 2012.

The Reconditioning Process, Step by Step

The process begins with a complete disassembly of the compressor. Motors, Air Ends, radiators, and piping are replaced or refurbished. Controls are updated, oil is changed, and more efficient valves are installed. Damaged steel components are machined directly in our dedicated workshop.

Units showing significant corrosion undergo full sandblasting and repainting. Voltage conversion is performed as needed. Each reconditioned compressor is rigorously tested before being listed for sale in our used equipment inventory or added to our rental fleet.

Repair Lead Times by Horsepower

Lead times vary based on the compressor’s power rating:

– 50 hp compressor: approximately 3 days

– 500 hp compressor: approximately 3 weeks

Our workshop restores around 75 units per year, typically handling 4 machines simultaneously, in addition to urgent customer requests.

Over 50 Years of Compressed Air Expertise

Sourcing obsolete parts is a challenge we tackle head-on. Our team works to find original Sullair parts or quality reconditioned alternatives when new parts are unavailable. With over 50 years of experience in the compressed air industry, we maintain an extensive inventory of legacy machines — a valuable source of hard-to-find components.

We regularly use the reconditioning process as an opportunity to modernize equipment through our extensive supplier network. One of our specialties is transforming cooling systems: costly water-cooled systems are replaced with more economical air-cooled units capable of recovering compressor heat for facility heating — reducing your energy costs.

Warranties and After-Sales Support

All sold machines come with warranties tailored to their year of manufacture. Our team is available to assist in equipment emergencies or to evaluate the economic advantages of reconditioning versus purchasing new equipment.

Our emergency service is available 24/7, across Canada.
